Power Monitoring

For critical remotely located systems a reliable source of power is essential and typically for installations like research stations, mountain rescue centers or telecommunications towers these facilities are located far from the main grid power supply. They are often powered by strings of batteries along with perhaps a diesel generator to recharge them and as the backup UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).

Equally for Computer and Server Room systems a reliable source of UPS backup power is essential to ensure power continuity and graceful shutdown of key server systems in an emergency. The UPS is often powered by strings of batteries that can be situated in a large purpose built racking system/building or a more rudimentary racking system consisting of a handful of batteries for smaller data centers. As a key part of any disaster recovery plan the UPS batteries must be maintained to be in peak operational condition.

AKCP will soon be offering a comprehensive battery monitoring solution for Off Grid and UPS batteries used as a backup.

In today’s environmentally aware times it is critical that every responsible company understands its day to day power consumption. Governments are increasingly putting the burden of responsibility on organizations to account for and justify their power and carbon footprint. It therefore becomes vital to understand your organizations current power consumption and gain a better understanding of where energy use is high or low and identify areas where consumption can be reduced. AKCP offer a comprehensive sub-metering monitoring and reporting solution using Power Meter Sensors and Current Transformers
